Psychonauts 2 Trailer

Raz: So... this is it. The mental world. Elton Fir: It looks like a dentist's office. Raz: A *mental* dentist's office.

I've not posted about it yet, but I am actually a massive gamer. Budget and time allowing. And I wanted to post about it now because a trailer dropped at the Game Awards which has me jumping for joy. No, not Dragon Age 4 - though that is exciting. Not the new Far Cry or even The Outer Worlds.

Has anyone here heard of the madcap, quirky and hysterical game Psychonauts?

"They bad news is that we're going to have to remove your brain and place it in an armored tank to shoot down innocent civilians with its psychic death beam. The good news is that your insurance is gonna cover the whole thing." Dr. Loboto

Psychonauts

Psychonauts is a game which came out in 2005 and immediately became one of my all-time favourites. Sure, it did nothing to reinvent the wheel. It had your usual blocky graphics and was a typical 3D platformer with double jumping a-plenty. But in terms of storytelling, characters and it's quick and dry sense of humour, it enthrals me as much today as it did thirteen years ago.

The game centres around our plucky hero, Raz, who has dreams of becoming a Psychonaut - an international psychic agent who can travel into the people minds, are telekinetic and have pyrokinesis. Thwarted by his family in these ambitions, he runs away and breaks into Whispering Rock Summer Camp, a camp for the psychically gifted. Only to be immediately caught and have his parents sent for. But before his father can arrive, strange things start happening at the camp and it's up to him and his friend Lily, who is not his girlfriend, to stop them and save their fellow children.

Last year, those lucky enough to have a VR headset could play Rumble in the Rhombus, a little spin-off game involving the main characters from the first game as they fly to the beginning of the next game. Bless them, meaning they've either been on that plane for either two years or thirteen years, depending on how you look at it.

Though I never got to play it, I did watch a complete walkthrough on Youtube and trust me, it's worth watching the first 15mins to hear the brilliant James Bond opening song parody.

After so long a wait, Tim Schafer and his company Double Fine Productions have released a trailer for Psychonauts 2. I even helped fund the squeal through their Fig campaign so fingers crossed you might even see my name in the credits at the end of the game!

Who's excited for this?! I know I am!
